Jimmie Covington
Jimmie currently advises AllianceBernstein L.P., a global asset management company, on legal, compliance, and regulatory matters across various asset and investor classes. Prior to AllianceBernstein, Jimmie was a corporate attorney at Baker McKenzie L.P., advising on financial regulations, international mergers and acquisitions, joint-ventures, and reorganizations.
Jimmie is a graduate of Howard University School of Law and received his B.A. and M.A. from the University at Albany, where he captained his 2x NCAA tournament participant Division-1 basketball team. Prior to law school, Jimmie worked with the homeless and at-risk youth populations and as a research associate at Healthy Schools Network, advocating for environmentally safe schools for children. Jimmie gained legislative experience as a congressional intern and as a graduate fellow at the New York State Assembly. During law school, Jimmie served as a Senior Editor for the Howard Human & Civil Rights Law Review, a judicial intern for Justice Ketanji B. Jackson at the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, and as an extern with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Jimmie serves as a founding board member for the Black Men Lawyers’ Association and on the board of Chicago Appleseed Center for Fair Courts. He’s a member of the Tennessee World Affairs Council and Economic Club of Nashville. Jimmie enjoys quality time with his family, coaching youth basketball, and cooking.
