Recent updates to the 2026 tax law mean that non-itemizers can deduct up to $1,000 per adult (or $2,000 if filing jointly) in charitable gifts. That opens the door for more people to give and receive a tax benefit at the same time.

A monthly gift of $84 reaches the $1,000 mark, qualifying for the deduction while fueling sustainability education, collaboration, and advocacy right here in Nashville.

Is my membership donation tax deductible?

What does my Urban Green Lab donation do?

You will support UGL's mission to teach communities how to live sustainably. We accomplish our mission by organizing, training, and connecting people in classrooms, households, and workplaces – places where culture begins. In all of these places, we incorporate education on two strategic topics of sustainability for Nashville: environmental justice and food waste, connecting everyday decisions to the impact on our neighbors and the planet.

Why support Urban Green Lab through monthly or yearly giving?

Do I receive a tax receipt or tax statement?

Is my donation secure?

Yes! Your credit card number is NEVER available to Urban Green Lab. Your card information is encrypted using industry-standard SSL technology to protect your information and provide a safe and secure environment for online donations. We will not sell, trade or share your personal information with anyone else, nor send donor mailings on behalf of other organizations, and we will only share personal information if you have given us specific permission to do so.

How will I be charged?

How can I change my monthly giving amount or update my credit card information?

To change your giving amount or credit card information, log in to your member profile. This was created for you automatically the first time you donated or created a fundraising page on the Classy platform. Once you’ve logged in, scroll to the bottom of the "My Profile" tab. Here you will be able to edit your recurring donation amount, as well as your credit card billing information. Once this is completed, the changes will take effect on the next scheduled billing date of your transaction.

How do I cancel my monthly donation?

Your recurring donation can be canceled through your "Member Profile". Go to www.classy.org and log in to your "Member Profile". If you no longer prefer to be billed on a recurring basis, select "Cancel" next to your recurring donation. You will then be asked to confirm that you would like to cancel your recurring donation. This is all that needs to be done to cancel your recurring donation. Please keep in mind that there will not be a confirmation email sent when this is cancelled.
