Urban Green Lab Announced as Nashville SC Community Partner for Greener Goals Starting XI Initiative

Urban Green Lab is excited to be the community partner for Nashville SC’s Greener Goals Starting XI. As the community partner, we are providing Nashville SC with educational resources to support the initiative and ensure alignment with citywide priorities and best practices. Our involvement includes advising Nashville SC, training corporate sponsors, and supporting community-based projects that educate fans and the community.

So far, our partnership has resulted in the implementation of back-of-house composting and food rescue at Geodis Park, which has resulted in almost 5,000 pounds of food being composted instead of going to the landfill and 900 pounds of unsold and unused food being rescued to go to neighbors in need.

About Urban Green Lab:
We teach communities how to live sustainably. A Nashville-based nonprofit founded in 2009, we work to ensure all of us have access to sustainable living education. To do that, we organize, train, and connect people in classrooms, households, and workplaces – places where culture begins. In all of these places, we incorporate education on two strategic topics of sustainability for Nashville: environmental justice and food waste, connecting everyday decisions to the impact on our neighbors and the planet.
