All of us at Urban Green Lab are grateful for this generous contribution from the Airbnb Community Fund so that we can continue growing opportunities for sustainability education in Nashville.
Through this new partnership, resident volunteers across the city will be trained on how to talk about sustainability with their families and neighbors, inspiring more Nashvillians to make simple, everyday decisions that support a more vibrant Nashville for all.
In schools, we will train K-12 teachers how to teach about sustainable living for the first time, equipping the next generation of sustainability stewards. Through project-based learning assignments and home investigations, students will apply what they have learned about sustainability, making a difference at home and in their neighborhoods today.
This support from Airbnb will help us increase our capacity to train teachers and residents and bring together sustainability champions for ongoing learning and support. Together, we’re teaching Nashville how to live more sustainably.
About Urban Green Lab:
We teach communities how to live sustainably. A Nashville-based nonprofit founded in 2009, we work to ensure all of us have access to sustainable living education. To do that, we organize, train, and connect people in classrooms, households, and workplaces – places where culture begins. In all of these places, we incorporate education on two strategic topics of sustainability for Nashville: environmental justice and food waste, connecting everyday decisions to the impact on our neighbors and the planet.
