Erica Weeks

Erica Weeks is the Director of Green Building Certifications at Paladin, Inc., a woman-owned engineering firm that specializes in direct-to-owner engineering, commissioning, and sustainability consulting via green building certifications. She is a licensed architect who has dedicated her career to championing a better quality of life through the built environment, and works with owners, architects, engineers, and contractors across the country to facilitate sustainability rating systems. Erica’s keen ability to create synergies between disciplines and execute cross discipline calculations drives innovation among project teams.
Over the past twenty years, she has facilitated the sustainability process on over 250 projects, across an array of available certification and rating systems.
Her commitment to sustainability is further demonstrated through her involvement with several professional organizations and her dedication to speaking and mentorship. Erica sits on the USGBC’s Water Efficiency Technical Advisory Group (WE TAG), a global cohort of water experts that share knowledge to enhance requirements for water in the future versions of LEED. She is a member of ULI Nashville’s Building Health Places Action Council and is in her second term with the AIA National’s Framework for Design Excellence cohort, developing sustainability action toolkits for the “every day” architect.
In 2021, Erica was recognized as one of two individual Regional Leaders in the USGBC’s “Big South” for her on-going leadership to create sustainable buildings and communities. She was named a “Shero” in
Courage by the USGBC in 2020, and one of Nashville Business Journal’s Women of Influence in 2017. She frequently presents at local, regional, and national conferences for organizations such as the AIA and
USGBC and has been a Committee on the Environment technical reviewer for the AIA’s annual COTE Top10 Awards program.
Erica earned her Bachelor of Architecture at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and is a licensed architect in Tennessee and California. She earned her first LEED AP credential in 2006 and was one of
the first 100 people in the country to earn the EDAC credential, helping to integrate research into the practice of design.
