Jordan Owens, MSW
Sustainable Households Manager
Jordan Owens serves as the Sustainable Households Manager at Urban Green Lab helping teach individuals, families, and neighborhoods how to live sustainably. She co-leads the webinar series “Sustainable in the City” and the Nashville Environmental Justice Initiative.
Jordan is a social worker by trade and a Nashville native. Jordan received her Master of Social Work and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Memphis. Improving, healing, and serving the community are her passions and expertise. As an accomplished professional with more than 5 years of social justice experience, including facilitation and community collaboration, Jordan understands that environmental justice is connected to social justice and the fight against oppression and inequity.
Jordan spent time providing trauma-informed care to survivors as a victim advocate assisting survivors in navigating the criminal justice system, and providing crisis intervention to those seeking medical-legal exams.She also brings training experience as she worked with college professionals and victim service providers to improve response and services for survivors across the state. She believes teaching others how to preserve our ecosystem is just as vital as
supporting victims of violence.
Jordan loves downloading apps to do simple tasks and practices self-care by dancing, burning her favorite candles, and having at home spa days! On any given day, you can catch this enneagram 7 bursting into song or quoting a movie.
